In Salma's two seasons as a choreographer, she will have created and premiered five evening-length works: Bamboo Sticks,, Collection of Me, Roses on the Floor, Eternal Bleeding and Things My Mother Taught Me, and a twenty-minute piece, Bound by Love. All feature original text, with fast and beautiful contemporary choreography based in modern, ballet, and urban vocabularies that also draws from her roots in Egypt and Sudan. Performers in the work over the past year have included: Ljuba Castot, Jenny Levy, Rachel Monahan, Cathy Richards, Therese Whelan, and Kara Walsh.
Congratulations to Cathy Richards and Salma, who incorporated Movement in C, LLC this year as a vehicle for more creative collaboration.
